Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Summary: The CFO is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for the financial stewardship of Citizens First Bank. This role oversees all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, regulatory reporting, asset/liability management, investments, and strategic planning.
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight
• Lead all accounting and financial reporting functions in compliance with GAAP and banking regulations.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
• Oversee general ledger and accounts payable/receivable.
Regulatory Compliance & Audit
• Ensure compliance with FDIC, Federal Reserve and other financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Maintain strong internal controls and risk mitigation practices.
Asset & Liability Management
• Manage liquidity, cash flow, and investment portfolios.
• Oversee asset/liability management and interest rate risk strategies.
• Maintain relationships with FHLB, Federal Reserve, and other financial institutions.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks to the bank, including credit risk, market risk and liquidity risk.
Strategic Planning
• Partner with the CEO and executive team to align financial strategy with long-term goals.
• Develop multi-year financial models and capital plans.
• Support board-level financial presentations and decision-making.
Leadership & Development
• Supervise finance and accounting staff.
• Support professional development and succession planning.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Bank-specific financial training or certifications a plus.
Experience
• Minimum 8–10 years in financial leadership, preferably in community banking.
• Experience managing financial operations for institutions with $250MM+ in assets.
Skills
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in financial systems and banking platforms.
